Medical Products Sales Through Distribution Reach $61B In 2025

The U.S. medical products distribution market grew 4.6% year-over-year in 2025, according to the latest data from Clarivate. The treatment center market segment, which includes dialysis clinics, rehab centers, urgent care, and more, showed the fastest growth, rising 12.6% in 2025. The hospital sector grew 5.1% while the physician practice segment grew just 2.3%.

Products Sold Through Distribution (In Billions)

Hospitals and health systems drove the largest dollar increase in spending in 2025, with distribution revenue rising by $1.83 billion in 2025. Growth in this segment was led by surgical instrument set sales, which increased $141 million, and urological supplies, which rose $118 million year over year. The home care market posted the second-largest monetary gain, expanding by over $528 million, or 9.3% compared with 2024, with urological supplies accounting for the largest category increase at $104 million.

According to Andrew Lee, Vice President Medtech at Clarivate, recent data points to a clear shift in care delivery. “The most comprehensive market tracking data we have shows continued pressure toward outpatient settings and care at home. We are observing an outsized performance of the Home Care market driven by all manner of products, from clinical nutrition supplements to glucose monitoring products to urinary catheters.”

Long-term care was the only market segment to shrink in 2025, with distribution revenue declining $62 million, or 2.1% year over year.
