Alexandria, VA – Incoming HIDA Board Chair Gina Marchese will take the gavel from current Chair Chris Fagnani at the upcoming annual meeting of the Health Industry Distributors Association September 22.

“Top industry executives on HIDA’s board have elected these first-rate leaders for their experience, insight, and business acumenthat will benefit all of our members as we navigate these unprecedented times,” said HIDA President & CEO Matthew J. Rowan.

Marchese, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales Operations for Concordance Healthcare Solutions, will take over the duties of board chair beginning January 2021. Marchese has worked in the medical products distribution industry for 23 years, serving the industry and its customers during challenging times including the September 11 terrorist attacks, Super Storm Sandy, and now the coronavirus pandemic.

“Gina has spent her entire career in healthcare, and I’ve always respected her industry experience,” said Fagnani, co-owner of Lynn Medical. “I am also proud to pass the gavel to our fourth female board chair.”

Concordance CEO Lisa Hohman currently is chair of HIDA’s research and education affiliate, the HIDA Educational Foundation (HEF). Cindy Juhas, now Chief Strategy Officer for CMS, served as HIDA’s first female chair in 2001.

HEF Treasurer Mike Abney of Quidel, added his congratulations: “This leadership succession is not surprising given their remarkable accomplishments. It is an important moment for growth and inclusion in our industry, one each member company should be proud to be a part of.”
