HIDA Establishes New PPE Council

April 30, 2020

Alexandria, VA – The Health Industry Distributors Association is pleased to announce the formation of a new PPE Council. The group, which includes manufacturers and distributors of personal protective equipment (PPE), will discuss challenges arising from the pandemic and work to identify short-term and long-term solutions.

“This new council will help inform and guide HIDA’s work to address PPE challenges,” said HIDA President & CEO Matthew J. Rowan. “It also creates an opportunity for PPE companies to learn from each other as they address the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The council’s first meeting took place by conference call on April 24. Topics for the first call included the increase in need for PPE, supply and demand, and foreign regulatory issues. The council will meet live at the Streamlining Healthcare Conference & Expo, Sept. 22-24 in Chicago.
