HIDA Cancels Executive Conference Due To Coronavirus

March 11, 2020

Alexandria, VA – The 2020 Executive Conference scheduled for March 24-27 has been canceled, HIDA President and CEO Matthew J. Rowan announced today.

“We’re taking this step to protect the health and safety of attendees and to allow our members to address their customers’ pressing supply chain needs during the coronavirus outbreak,” Rowan explained.

The organization plans to offer much of the conference content virtually. A schedule will be published shortly. HIDA is working with conference registrants directly regarding refunds for registration fees and sponsorships.

HIDA’s housing partners, Expovision and the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, have agreed to refund hotel deposits as long as cancellations are received by March 18. Registrants should contact the HIDA Hotel Reservation Office right away at 800-860-5399 or hidahotels@expovision.com to cancel room reservations.

“We are disappointed to have to cancel, but HIDA and HIDA Educational Foundation leadership determined that this is the best way for us to support our members at this challenging time,” Rowan said.
