Patient volumes in ambulatory surgery centers, hospital outpatient departments, physician offices and skilled nursing facilities each had year-over-year increases in December 2023, according to HIDA’s latest Patient Volumes Chartbook. Hospital inpatient departments and independent labs saw declines from December 2022. Ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) continue to be the only setting with volumes higher than pre-pandemic levels.
