HIDA Releases Tariff Exemption FAQ

Earlier this year, the United States Trade Representative (USTR) published a process that establishes how U.S. stakeholders may request exemptions for products included in the first and second finalized tariff lists. With the deadlines approaching, HIDA Government Affairs has created a FAQ which details the exemption process and includes helpful links. The deadline for requesting an exemption for products included in the first list is October 9, 2018 and the deadline for the second list is December 18, 2018. HIDA expects USTR to release the exemption process and timeline for the third list in the near future, but expects it to be similar to the process outlined in the FAQ.
