HIDA Releases Summary of the FY 2015 IRF Proposed Rule
The HIDA Government Affairs team has prepared a summary of important policy takeaways after reviewing the CMS FY 2015 IRF Proposed Rule.
In the summary, HIDA explains that CMS is proposing a net positive update of 2.2% from Medicare for FY 2015. This equals $160 million increase in IRF payments for FY 2015. Other key highlights from the proposed rule would:
- Freeze facility level adjustment factors for FY 2015
- Remove 10 amputation related ICD-9 codes and 4 amputation and arthritis relative impairment group codes (IGC) from the presumptive compliance criteria
- Add therapy data collection and Arthritis Diagnosis Codes to the IRF-patient assessment instrument (IRF-PAI)
- Add two new measures to the quality reporting program
