What's New in AMS Courses

AMS courses are all designed to increase your success as a healthcare sales professional. New courses are added regularly. Browse the full list of courses available on the AMS website,, where you can view courses by date, format, market or alphabetically.

Two recently added courses have been created specifically to help meet common vendor credentialing requirements. Take a closer look in the AMS Vendor Credentialing section.

Radiation Safety

From X-rays to eye surgeries, radiation serves a variety of medical purposes in modern hospitals. While radiation can be quite useful, it can also pose a variety of dangers to human health. The goal of this course is to teach you the essentials of radiation safety.

As a sales rep, you clearly don’t need to operate imaging equipment or handle radioactive material – but you do need to understand the basic principles so that you may visit a hospital safely, understand your customers’ needs, and have the expertise to recommend the appropriate products.

By the end of the course, you will be able to confidently answer the following questions:

  • What is radiation?
  • What are the dangers of radiation exposure?
  • How can I avoid endangering myself or others?
  • Where and why is radiation found in a hospital?

Fire Safety

Every year, fires in the U.S. result in thousands of deaths and injuries, as well as billions of dollars in damages. Fires in a healthcare setting are particularly hazardous because of the presence of volatile substances, such as compressed gases, and the risks of evacuating vulnerable patients.

As a sales rep, you should know the risks of fire, including those unique to a healthcare setting. You will also need to know what basic steps to take to prevent fires and how to act safely in the event of an emergency.

By the end of the course, you will be able to confidently answer the following questions:

  • What are the leading causes of fire in the workplace?
  • What are some hazards specific to a healthcare setting?
  • How can I reduce risks to myself and others?
  • How can I protect myself and others during an emergency?

AMS courses are offered exclusively through a company license. If your company is not currently a licensee, contact Naomi Cheung, Education Coordinator,, 703-838-6104 to find out more.
