How It Works
AMS Exam Preparation: To prepare for the AMS exam, salespeople study the 13 courses of the ADVANCE® Core Curriculum. These courses are offered in text form with audio study aids also available.
AMS Exam: To become AMS-accredited, candidates must pass an exam covering the 13-course ADVANCE® Core Curriculum. The AMS exam is offered online at various times during the year and in person annually at the HIDA trade show. HIDA can also schedules exams at company meetings if advance notice is provided. Candidates must submit an exam application at least 2 weeks before the desired exam date. Because the exam is a proctored, closed-book exam, a company proctor must be present during the examination.
AMS Continuing Education: To maintain accreditation, AMS professionals must earn at least 6 AMS points each year. These can be earned by studying Masters Curriculum courses and passing the online exam for the course, by attending training sessions at the annual HIDA trade show, and through other types of training.
Online Education System: ADVANCE® and AMS resources are provided through an online education portal offered by HIDA. Through this online site, any employee from an ADVANCE® licensee company can:
- Study, download or print ADVANCE® courses
- Take prep tests on Core Curriculum courses to ensure readiness for the AMS exam
- Take tests on ADVANCE® Masters Curriculum course to earn AMS points
- Check their education transcript
