Medical Device Tax Fact Sheet
HIDA members can now access a “Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)” resource to help understand the new proposed rule on the medical device tax, issued by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on February 3, 2012. The FAQ outlines how distributors may be impacted by the excise tax, which products are currently exempt, and the implementation date. HIDA is working with the IRS in advance of a final rule in order to reduce the burden of the excise tax on the supply chain.
